=What is a Femboy? Trap? Huh?= [Updated 02-2016]

For those who are not familiar with who femboys, andros, traps or other persons of alternate gender are, here are some examples and explanations.

NOT ALL THESE PICS ARE CONSIDERED SFW. It depends on your definition of what is safe and what is not.

Three notes:
1- 'Genderqueer' (also called non-binary or gender-expansive) is a catch all for anyone who does not identify as strictly masculine or feminine, and are considered to be outside the gender binary and cisnormativity, so everyone on this list would go under this umbrella term.
2- Many of these gender identities overlap and blur into others, no one is a 'perfect' example of just one thing as we are all unique, have different styles and cannot be stuffed into a neat little box. ^_^
3- All these definitions are in the simplest terms possible and are not all encompassing of each. We put them in these terms so everyone can understand them.

(Cisnormativity: Cisgendered persons are people whose gender identity matches that of the sex they were assigned at birth.)

*Femboys are males who are more effeminate, sometimes in their mannerisms, physical body, or dress, often blurring the line between male and female. (Note: Femboys are NOT twinks.)

--Example 1
--Example 2
--Example 3

*At first glance, the physical gender of someone who is andro is not obvious or obviously defined. Andro is short for androgynous.

--Example 1
--Example 2
--Example 3

*Traps can be male or female, but are often mistaken as the opposite so it's a surprise when you find out they aren't. For example: A femboy can be a trap, if he is so pretty that people mistake him for a girl. On the flip side, a tomboy can be a trap also.

--Example 1
--Example 2
--Example 3

*Transgenders are not traps, they are mentally and/or physically the gender they identify with, regardless of whether their physical matches their mental identity.

--Example 1
--Example 2
--Example 3
--Example 4

*A person of Alternate Gender (also known as genderqueer) is anyone not strictly male or female as defined by society. This can be someone who cross dresses, is a trap, femboy, androgyn, futa, shemale, sissy, transgender, etc.

--Example 1
--Example 2
--Example 3
--Example 4

*A sissy is a male who adopts hyper-feminine behaviors, cross dresses and engages in stereotypical "feminine" activities, including taking on the "submissive female" role in a relationship. (Not all sissies are transgender.)

--Example 1
--Example 2

*A Tgirl looks exactly like every other girl, but has a little extra down below... usually a lot extra, actually.

*Futa is short for futanari, which, in the hentai community, is a dick girl. A being that has the body of a female and the genitalia of a stallion (i.e. REALLY BIG) and extremely large breasts.

*A ladyboy is a male who naturally has all the attributes of a woman except for the plumbing. Some ladyboys do not need surgery or makeup to look like a woman, nor is there a need to try and sound like a woman as it is all natural for them. Some are considered transgender and can be taking hormones or had breast augmentation to create a more feminine body.

*Kathoey is the Thai term referring to either a transgender woman or an effeminate gay man. Kathoeys still have their male parts along with breasts, and are often perceived as belonging to a third gender.

*A hermaphrodite is a person who has both male and female genitals and secondary sex characteristics. The word INTERSEX has come into preferred usage for humans, since the word hermaphrodite is considered to be misleading and stigmatizing.

*Neutrois is a term that has many meanings. It is a non-binary gender identity that falls under the genderqueer or transgender umbrellas. You can read more here: http://neutrois.com/

Please note, sexual preference has nothing to do with gender identity. Femboys, traps, androgynous, transgender and all other forms of alternate genders can be any sexual orientation, regardless of how they dress or appear outwardly.

Always be respectful of each other's identities. It can be difficult at times to know a person's identity if you are meeting them for the first time. If you are not sure of a person's gender identity, take cues from their friends, or you can politely ask in private what their preferred pronouns are.

I have also linked to blogs, but be warned, some pics are graphic and Adult in nature. The links to individual pictures we've supplied are all artistic and work safe ^_^v
